Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success (CEVSS)

Welcome to the next chapter. The Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success is your direct link for Veteran student support, resources, and referrals assistance. Our services are open to all veteran, active duty, reservist, or National Guard students.

The Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success fosters a veteran-friendly culture at CVCC by providing programs designed to increase student veterans鈥� sense of belonging on campus. Veteran students will have access to academic success services coupled with mental health referral assistance and a space that promotes social, emotional, and mental well-being.

The Center of Excellence for Veteran Student Success (CEVSS) is a Federally funded program made possible by the Department of Education Fund for the Improvement of Secondary Education (FIPSE) grant.听 This program encourages model programs to support veteran student success in postsecondary education by coordinating services to address the academic, financial, physical, and social needs of veteran students.听

  • Assistance with special admissions and transfer of credit听听

  • ADA Accommodations for Veterans with Disabilities听听听听
  • Early Alert Service to identify veteran students struggling early in each semester and address their academic needs.听听
  • Increased Career Pathways Focus听听听听听听
  • VA (Veterans Affairs) Work-study opportunities听听
  • Information and referral for housing support for veteran students living in institutional facilities and commuting veteran students
  • Referrals for Veteran and local Community Resources.听听
  • Group Workshops听
  • The lounge provides Veteran students with a comfortable space for student veterans to connect, unwind and locate resources.
  • Quiet Room as temporary sanctuary where Veteran students can decompress and escape the fast pace of the work environment, while not interrupting general operations.
  • Study room equipped with 5 computer stations, printer, and office supplies听
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi access听
  • Food pantry听
